Published in : Gard. Chron. 1882(2): 552 (1882).

Distribution : Thailand, Penin. Malaysia, Borneo & Sumatra.

Remarks : A common species found in Peninsular Malaysia and is easily mistaken with Dendrobium aduncum. According to Lavarack, Harris & Stocker in Dendrobium And Its Relative, pg. 115, "The differences between D. linguella and D. aduncum are finer and involve the details of the labellum, which has a hairy, protruding cone-shaped structure near the base in D. linguella. This is lacking in D. aduncum."
